How many times have you wished you had a time machine so you could go back and do something a different way? Well, according to the really super-amazing physicist, cosmologist and dreamer, Stephen Hawking, you can…given some simple equipment:

- A wormhole
- The Large Hadron Collider or
- A “rocket that goes really, really fast”
- Thorough understanding of Einstein’s theory of relativity.
- We reckon you could probably do with Hawking for advice.
These assertions all pop up in Hawking’s latest column for UK newspaper, The Daily Mail.
He claims that since time must move faster in some places than others it should be possible to move along these ‘rivers’ into the future.
We love his description of a wormhole in time. “There are tiny crevices, wrinkles and voids in time. Down at the smallest of scales, smaller even than molecules, smaller than atoms, we get to a place called the quantum foam. This is where wormholes exist. Tiny tunnels or shortcuts through space and time constantly form, disappear, and reform within this quantum world. And they actually link two separate places and two different times.”
“I used to avoid talking about it [time travel] for fear of being labelled a crank,” he admits. “But these days I’m not so cautious.”
What would Hawking do if he got to travel in time?
“If I had a time machine I’d visit Marilyn Monroe in her prime or drop in on Galileo as he turned his telescope to the heavens,” he writes. “Perhaps I’d even travel to the end of the universe to find out how our whole cosmic story ends.”
