Facebook, The Movie: This Holiday Season?

Facebook, The Movie: This Holiday Season?

Gear up for the white knuckle thrill ride of the holiday season that will speak to the soul of every man and every woman who’s ever been in love. Or something, I guess? Columbia Pictures has released the official poster and website for The Social Network, Hollywood’s version of the tale of everyone’s favourite ad-targeting service.

The David Fincher (Fight Club) flick will feature Jesse Eisenberg, the ‘poor man’s Michael Cera’ (but with arguably more acting talent) as a young Mark Zuckerberg. It’s been rumoured that this film might even get some Oscar attention.

For real? I mean, the Facebook story is a pretty epic one, and there’s been a ton of drama over the years that’s pretty fun to read about, but will it at all translate into an engaging Hollywood piece? I guess we’ll find out when we all torrent this film. There’s no way I’m paying 15 bucks to see this. Not unless there’s exploding ninja robots.

I’m totally seeing it! Facebook has really defined a whole age group (mine). I remember the day I got my college email address and my older sister showed me this website called thefacebook.com and got me to sign up. I remember being the first to write on friends’ walls (‘popping their Facebook cherry’). There were no photo albums, no Mafia Wars, no high schoolers, no moms. It was like our own little secret website for college kids. I’m exicted to see the back story behind it’s creation and rise…

Plus, I love Jesse Eisenberg (and Justin Timberlake is in it too I believe).
