Twitter has been growing rapidly, tripling its staff in just the past year. That’s why the San Francisco-based microblogging service is looking for a new place to call home. Reports have suggested that Twitter could move to South San Francisco, but new reports point to cities outside of its current place of residence.
According to the San Francisco Business Times, Twitter is also looking in Brisbane, CA, located in San Mateo County. The move would be a surprise considering that Twitter has become synonymous with the revitalized tech sector in San Francisco.
Many start-ups have gravitated toward South of Market in San Francisco just to be in the same neighborhood as Twitter, so it would deal a major blow to the city should Twitter leave. Regardless, there’s no end in sight for Twitter’s rapid growth. Twitter will open its first European office in London this year, and technical offices have moved to Utah.
