Were you hoping for a new iPad, iPhone, or other Apple-related gadget at the almost-instantly-sold-out Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 6? Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there isn’t going to be any. Apple has stated that WWDC 2011 is all about software.
What this means is that iOS is likely to receive a major facelift in the near future. Heavy emphasis on software and iOS improvements are going to be made this summer. And, personally, I’m betting that some big announcement involving music is going to happen. Of course, we will also probably see Mac OS X Lion making its way onto store shelves (or Mac App Stores).
But for those who were hoping for the iPhone 5 (including yours truly), you’ll have to wait a bit longer before that dream device becomes a reality — this summer is all about the softer side of Apple, baby.
