4 Free Android Apps to Help You Get That Vacation before the End of Summer

The end of summer is nearing (unfortunately) and for most of us that means that harsh weather will be drifting our way. Fortunately we have had great weather this summer as long as we stayed indoors where the air conditioning is and away from the heat of the sun, but that is no way to spend our summers!

Before the end of summer, you should take an adventure that will be memorable and one that will make it in your History book, to do so, you need easy ways of finding, booking and planning that vacation that you deserve.

Here are 4 free (yes, free) Apps that will help you get that vacation before the end of summer.

1. Kayak

This handy travel app enables you to search for hotels (even book a room right from the app), search for deals on car rentals, check your flight status, view and manage your trip itinerary, look up baggage fees and have easy access to airline phone numbers and information on various airports.

According to the app, users have rated this 4.4/5 which is pretty great, some even stating that it is even better than the Kayak website.

2. TripAdvisor

This app has half a million downloads which is a sure fire way of knowing it is popular amongst its users. Since it helps you plan the perfect trip by being able to read over 50 million reviews and opinions by other travelers like yourself, you will be able to find the destination you are looking for with a greater possibility of actually enjoying yourself.

Tripadvisor is simple to use and allows users to search for Hotels, Restaurants and various attractions in an array of destinations. They also provide photos taken by other travelers so you can have a bird’s eye view on your chosen location. The best part (As if it can get any better) is the ability to utilize the TripAdvisor “Near Me Now” feature to discover options that are near you while on the road.

The reviews of the app are pretty good and its users have given this free application a 4.5/5.

3. GasBuddy

This particular app will have you grinning from ear to ear. It allows you to find the cheapest gas prices on the go… for FREE! In one simple click you will be able to locate the cheapest gas station nearest you.

GasBuddy will help you never over pay for gas ever again; it also has a fun reward system for every gas price reported you will earn points. These points will go towards prizes and giveaways and since they give away a $250 gas card every week, the other prizes are probably goodies too. So by contributing a gas price you are not only providing useful information to the community, you are also gaining ways to win prizes!

Users are overjoyed over this app and have given it a 4.6/5 rating!

*Note* the gas prices are for U.S and Canadian residents only.

4. Strava Cycling

Want to go green during your vacation? Have fun while doing so with this app that allows you to record your rides, analyze your performance and how well you do among your friends or locals. Add some competition by setting goals you want to beat personally or with your friends.

You will be able to record rides using your phone’s built-in GPS and get detailed activity stats that include your rides distance, pace, elevation and how much calories you burned.

You will also be able to review your weekly, yearly and all-time activity stats as well as compare your scores with friends, locals and professionals.

Once you begin setting personal records you will be able to earn achievements for outstanding accomplishments. You can earn King and Queen of the mountain honors on specific roads and trails.

Find great riding places worldwide and view the most popular in specific areas where you can even challenge the locals. You can explore even more on the Strava Website.

Users rate this app a 4.5/5

Hopefully, you will be able to expand your horizons with some help from Technology to get the most out of what is left of your summer.
