Bringing down the house

We’ve all seen the casino movies where the cheaters come up these elaborate plans to rob the casinos of millions of dollars. Not to mention they always use the coolest gadgets to do so. Well, for those of you that thought that was only something that happened in the movies, you’re wrong.

Casino cheaters have been around for quite a while, and they are still cheating their way to thousands, if not millions of dollars today. However, it’s a lot harder to get away with cheating now-a-days. Casinos are stepping their game up when it comes to their cheater-catching gadgets.

In fact, on average, there are 5,000 HD cameras per casino with zoom capability that can read dice, cards and chips of every play. Casinos also use radio frequency identification (RFID) to aid in the collection of individual’s gambling habits to detect anomalies. Facial recognition and biometrics are also used to catch cheaters.
