iPhone 5 pre-orders planned for September 12

The wait is finally nearly over.

After a false start earlier in the year that got everyone excited about the iPhone 5 only to be offered the iPhone 4s instead, Apple appears to be ready to release their latest generation smartphone to its adoring fans. According to iMore, the iPhone 5 event will be held September 12 with pre-orders opening up that day.

This falls in line with recent price drops in older hardware.
