Google adds AMBER Alerts to its search and maps

Google adds AMBER Alerts

As of yesterday Google has teamed up with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and are adding AMBER Alerts to their platform known as Google Public Alerts. You will now be able to not only see alerts happening on a map such as; weather and emergency alerts within your area or around the globe, you will also be able to help locate missing children.

Google Public Alerts will now offer you alerts that are relevant to helping bring children home safely. The AMBER Alert will provide details about the missing child, case and vehicle information as well as any information about the abductor to help in capturing the criminal and bringing the missing child home safely.

Currently AMBER Alerts via Google will be only available in the US; however they are working on making them possible to Europe and Canada.
