The Minecraft treatment of King's Landing from Game of Thrones is absolutely mind-blowing

There have been some pretty amazing creations with Minecraft over the years. The wildly popular world-building game may be simply a batch of blocks and grazing sheep to the casual explorer, but to those dedicated to the art that can be drawn from the tools, the results can prove that the hard work was an exercise in sheer awesome.

Such is the case for the best Minecraft creation I’ve ever seen by Will Blew and Jacob Granberry, the ever-patient folks over at WesterosCraft. Their rendition of King’s Landing, the fictional capital of the Seven Kingdoms in Game of Thrones, took over 100 builders and four months to complete. The generated around 3,000 unique buildings in the city, all of which have proper decor inside and out.

They’re not stopping here. They plan on building the entire continent, adding non-player characters to roam the streets and countryside, and possibly turning it all into a massive role-playing game. With that sort of dedication, they’re certainly due for some recognition. If their post on Reddit is any indication, they’re already becoming server-crashing popular amongst geeks.

Here are some of the stunning images:
