Your tech won’t save you on doomsday

There are always going to be people who make claims about the upcoming apocalypse. So far, they’ve all turned out to be untrue (as can be verified by the fact that you’re reading this story right now) but someday, it may actually happen. When it does happen, will you be prepared?

Your iPad won’t help you. Your smartphone will likely become a brick. When times get extremely desperate, food, water, and shelter are the only real considerations. If doomsday comes,  it will be back to the basics for the remnants of humanity.

In this infographic, they explore the details that so few of us consider – surviving for an extended period of time once society collapse. It’s a morbid thought, but something that survivors will be desperate to understand if and when the end is here. They even go so far as to show which professions of today will be most useful in a post-apocalyptic world. Be nice to your doctor neighbor.

Today, “preppers” are viewed differently depending on who you ask. Some say they’re the smart ones, getting their personal bunkers ready to hunker down if aliens, zombies, or robots strike (or even worse, the government itself). Others call them nuts with television shows depicting how they spend a good chunk of their money preparing for situations that seem extremely unlikely, at least today. Whether you’re a prepper or not, you should at least have some basic knowledge of how to survive.

No cows. They take up too much space, they eat too much, and they take a long time to mature. A friend once told me his plan of getting a boat, grabbing a few rabbits, and parking them on an island to begin building his food supplies. It sounded crazy at the time, but after viewing this infographic I have to admit it might not be such a bad idea.
