BlackBerry may be on the table

If the rumors are true (and they often are when tech and Wall Street collide) then BlackBerry may be on the table for purchase. The once-proud smartphone maker has struggled to keep up and their latest (last?) play to stay alive with the BlackBerry 10 has not given them much hope for a future.

BlackBerry founder Mike Lazaridis is reportedly considering a bid to take over the struggling smartphone maker.

Lazaridis, who stepped down as co-chief executive last year, is talking to private equity firms about a bid for the company, which reported a big loss and announced 4,500 layoffs this week.
