Bloggers may be protesting against their own rights with the Senate’s media shield

It isn’t hard to instantly not trust actions by the government. Over the years, they’ve done everything they can to make bloggers and journalists alike not trust them, not like them, and never support them. In this case, blogger Kurt Wimmer believes that bloggers are lashing out against a bill that might actually help them.

Some bloggers are alarmed by a law recently moved forward by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Ironically, this law would actually protect them.

The shield bill, which is called the “Free Flow of Information Act,” would create a new federal privilege for reporters to protect confidential sources. Forty-nine states have long had laws like this on the books or in their case law.

What do you think?
