New York is making it easier to stop and text while driving

Texting is one of the most dangerous activities one can do while driving, but the constant pings from smartphones makes it still very common. Now, New York is trying to make it easier on people who simply can’t wait long enough to get to their next stop.

Can’t wait to respond to the latest text from your BFF?

NBD — no big deal.

At least if you’re driving through New York, where Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced measures aimed at drivers haunted by the sound of unanswered cellphone rings and dings. New highway signs will say: “It can wait: text stop 5 miles.”
