BlackBerry preferred by NATO for classified communications

Over the last few months, BlackBerry has had a challenge staying alive and relevant. They’ve been hit by bad news followed by worse news followed by catastrophic news during this time period to the point that many are wondering about their future.

They may have once been the business tool of choice, but today the only people really liking them happen to be in NATO. A win is a win.

BlackBerry today announced that BlackBerry(R) Enterprise Service 10 and BlackBerry 10 smartphones have been the first to be approved by NATO for classified communications up to the level of “Restricted”. The certification allows agencies in NATO countries in all 28 member states across North America and Europe to use BlackBerry 10 smartphones in the office or in the field.
