LG gets into tablet market with their biggest strength: sharper displays

They have always been a display company. Now, LG is hoping to take this strength and turn it into a competitive tablet in an industry that’s already overloaded with choices.

LG Electronics Inc introduced on Monday its first tablet with a high-resolution screen, joining global rivals trying to take on Apple Inc’s dominance in the popular small-sized tablet market.

The G Pad 8.3 is the first tablet by the South Korean firm in nearly two years as it has struggled to regain lost ground in the mobile market due to a slow response to the industry’s shift to smartphones.
