A new era is dawning, one where everything is automatically encrypted by defult

People used to consider encryption more of a luxury than a necessity, but that all changed when information on the NSA’s spying came to light. Now people, companies, and entire governments are scrambling to protect their information behind walls of encryption. Very soon we’ll be seeing encryption become a default service instead of a luxury.

With Yahoo promising “encryption everywhere,” Google moving to 2,048-bit certificates by year’s end, HTTP 2.0 to be automatically encrypted, and a renewed interested in secure email, we’ve entered a new phase: the era of encryption by default over the network — and maybe everywhere else, too.

What do you think?
