Microsoft launches program to help veterans find employment

Microsoft is launching a new program that will help veterans find employment by teaching them useful software skills so that they can apply them to the tech industry.

It might be hard for military veterans transitioning out of the military to find a job in an entirely different field as stated by Joint Base Lewis-McChord commander H. Charles Hodges Jr., “Unemployment rates are higher among veterans because it’s not always easy for service members to understand where their skills apply outside the military,” which is why Microsoft is hoping to do their part for US military veterans by providing them with training in software development and testing in hopes that these skills can then be taken and applied in the tech industry, where the veterans can then apply for job positions such as developers, applications engineer, and IT project managers.
