New Kickstarter campaign makes use of broken iPhones

Chris Koerner, a former worker for an Apple repair shop, noticed that many broken phone parts were just thrown away. Seeing this as needless waste, Koerner decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for his project, called Twice Used, that takes broken iPhones and uses them to make everything from earrings to clocks to coasters.

A broken iPhone means it’s time to visit the closest repair shop or perhaps consider buying another phone. But a new service wants to take broken iPhones and do something different with them — transform them into entirely new objects.
