Roku and AOL team up to bring bring first news app to the streaming TV boxes

Roku has teamed up with AOL to bring news-related content to Roku’s digital media player. The AOL app will be available for all current-generation Roku devices and will deliver news-related content from numerous sources.

Streaming set-top box manufacturer Roku wants to have as much content that appeals to as many people as possible on its devices. Lately, that’s meant adding new content channels from big TV networks like ESPN and Disney. But the box is also getting more streaming content today — specifically news content that’s being distributed through AOL On.
