New software that was developed in collaboration between IBM and Baylor College of Medicine is able to scan thousands of research papers and make predictions about new discoveries. This new software could help pharmaceutical companies greatly increase the speed at which new drugs are developed. 

Software that read tens of thousands of research papers and then predicted new discoveries about the workings of a protein that’s key to cancer could herald a faster approach to developing new drugs.
