One of the biggest issues people had with the Xbox One when it was first announced was that it was trying to choke out indie developers. In response to this, Microsoft announced a self-publishing program for Xbox One in order to bring a plethora of indie games to the new console. The program will launch early next year and several developers have already signed up.
We reported back in July that Microsoft had confirmed that its latest gaming console, the Xbox One, will support self-publishing. The decision to allow developers to self-publish games for Xbox One would open up the door to a plethora of indie games for Microsoft’s new console. Today, a list of developers who have already signed up for ID@Xbox was made public and the company also revealed that the first self-published games will be out early next year.
