IMDb app for iOS adds Amazon listings

The official app of the Amazon-owned IMDb service has just received a very nice update. First up, users can now quickly and easily see when a title is available through the Amazon Prime Instant Video streaming service. And if you have the app installed on your iOS device, a simple tap will begin playback. Television watchers in the United States can now use the app’s listings to see when and where they can watch their favorite program.

Two noteworthy new updates hit the App Store on Wednesday as television and movie database IMDb added TV listings and the ability to check titles’ Amazon Prime ability, while Nike’s Nike+ Move gained a number of localizations and stability improvements. IMDb’s latest update brings a significant number of enhancements, notably the ability to browse television listings for viewers in the U.S. Users can also check whether a title is available on Amazon’s Prime streaming service at a glance.  Additionally, the company updated the design of its “showtimes” page for iPhone owners, and showtimes for upcoming films are now more easily discoverable. IMDb also promises that a “weird bug” affecting multiplied user ratings is now fixed.
