Leaked images of the OnePlus One smartphone have surfaced

Former Oppo exec Pete Lau announced his plans to make “the perfect smartphone” a few months ago, and now the OnePlus One is almost here. Its launch is scheduled for April 23rd, but Android Authority points out pictures posted on a forum that claim to show press renders of the device itself and “StyleSwap” covers that will let owners customize its looks. Not-so-shockingly, what we’re seeing looks a lot like the Oppo Find 5, although the only question left is whether they’re authentic or just a fan’s creation.

The OnePlus One has allegedly surfaced in leaked marketing shots posted on a forum, days before its expected launch. The images, which are renders rather than photographs, appear to show not only what could be the final form of the smartphone, but also a collection of the StyleSwap back covers the company will also be producing. The images spotted by Android Authority on the OnePlusBBS forum show a seemingly minimalist smartphone design that takes some cues from the Oppo Find 5, with the large glass front panel having little to blemish the appearance. The back covers are shown to include wooden and fabric variations, though it is unclear if the materials shown are genuine or are printed plastic.
