NBC’s iOS mobile app receives AirPlay support

NBC updated its mobile app for iPhone and iPad with one big update for iOS and Apple TV users: the ability to AirPlay content from the mobile app to your TV via Apple TV. The update is a big deal for a couple of reasons. The most notable being the fact that NBC offers full TV episodes for free through its mobile app, without the requirement of signing into your existing cable subscription like many other popular network apps.

The NBC app has been updated with support for AirPlay and a new Trending Clips section. “Watch all of your favorite NBC shows anytime, anywhere for FREE on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch – now with AirPlay Mirroring! The NBC app has been redesigned and optimized for iOS 7. Watch full-length episodes of NBC’s primetime, daytime and late-night hits like The Voice, The Blacklist, About a Boy, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Days of our Lives. New highlight clips and previews from The Tonight Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers and Saturday Night Live are added every day! And with new AirPlay Mirroring, you can browse, swipe and stream all your favorites directly to your TV via Apple TV.”
