LG Volt launches on Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile

With the LG Volt, Sprint’s ultrafast LTE Spark network has made the jump to Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, the carrier’s prepaid arms. Announced earlier this year as the LG L90, the Volt is an Android 4.4 KitKat smartphone with better-than-average hardware specifications. The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor which is bolstered by 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.

Way back in February the LG F90 made its way to Sprint as the LG Volt. Today, that device is officially launching on Sprint’s prepaid Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile networks for $179.99 without a contract. While one might look at the LG Volt and shrug it off based on its price, the device actually offers a lot at its price point. It’s equipped with a 4.7-inch display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.4 KitKat, an 8-megapixel camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, a large 3,000mAh battery that offers up to 24 hours of talk time, an IR blaster that allows you to control your TV with LG’s QuickRemote software, a unique KnockOn security feature, LTE support and more. While we also enjoy other affordable handsets, like the Moto G, the LTE support alone makes this a more compelling buy.
