Skype now has over 2,000,000 registered users

Just like how we celebrate birthdays in life alongside other memories in the form of anniversaries, so too, do apps take the same approach – especially the more popular ones. I am referring to the likes of WhatsApp that has recently achieved half a billion active users. An older player in the VoIP market, Skype has recently crossed the 2,000,000th registered user mark where its community is concerned.

The Skype Community recently passed a major milestone by welcoming its 2,000,000th registered user! We are thrilled that two million people from around the world have joined us to ask and answer questions, share stories and talk about Skype. In parenting people often talk about the terrible twos, but on the Community we’re planning for the terrific twos because there’s so much ahead to get excited about. We’re already shaping the future of Skype and we have no intention of stopping any time soon. At the moment we have idea boards open where you can contribute your ideas for the future of Skype for Windows desktop and Skype for Windows Phone. The information that you provide here is regularly reviewed and fed into the development process for future releases. We’re continually expanding this program so keep an eye out for more idea boards coming soon.
