Specs for Alcatel’s One Touch D820 smartphone have been revealed

When it comes to smartphones with QHD displays, there aren’t that many in the market right now, making it ripe for OEMs to come out of the woodworks with their offerings. So far we have seen QHD smartphones from the likes of Vivo, Oppo, and LG, but it looks like Alcatel could be getting into the market as well. This is thanks to a GFXBench sighting which revealed the handset’s alleged specs. We should note that these specs could change at a later date or upon its official release, so do take it with a grain of salt for now. Starting with the display, the Alcatel One Touch D820 appears to sport a 4.5-inch QHD display. This is interesting because due to the smaller size, it would give the D820 a much higher pixel density than its competitors.

There aren’t a lot of Android smartphones using a Quad HD (2560×1440) display in the market yet. There’s the Vivo Xplay 3S, the Oppo Find 7, and the recently released LG G3. Another smartphone that will be using this type of display is about to hit the market and this time its coming from an unexpected brand. Alcatel will soon be releasing the One Touch D820 and its specs were revealed at the GFXbench website. The main feature of the Alcatel One Touch D820 is its 4.6-inch display that has an amazing QHD resolution. It already runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and uses a MediaTek quad core chip. Its 3GB of RAM should be able to provide a smooth user experience and its use of a PowerVR Rogue Han GPU makes it able to handle most of the demanding Android games in the market. The MediaTek MT6595 chip that this model uses comes integrated with LTE support which means that this device will be able to use the 4G LTE network of most carriers. What’s interesting about the GFXBench report is the cameras used by this device. It appears that it will be sporting an 8MP rear and front camera both of which are capable of recording 4K quality videos. While we are not quick to believe on this feature an 8MP front camera will definitely be popular among those who love to take selfie shots.
