The Android 4.4.3 update will be coming to the Galaxy S5 this month

A couple of months after Google released Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for all supported devices, it rolled out an incremental update in the shape of Android 4.4.3. As always the first devices to receive said update were smartphones and tablets in Google’s own Nexus crop. Next in line are some of the best performing Android devices released this year. Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is certainly on that list and a new leaked document hints that the Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 release is going to take place in the coming weeks. Android 4.4.3 isn’t a major update, as previously mentioned, its actually an incremental update. Don’t expect any new features however it does bring a plethora of bug fixes and stability improvements. On the stock version the phone dialler has been redesigned, but since Samsung’s TouchWiz UI gives its own look and feel to the dialler, users won’t see a change.

After Google rolled out the Android 4.4.3 update for the Nexus and Google Play Experience devices and Motorola updated the Moto E, G, and X to the new software version, Samsung will also bring the Android 4.4.3 update on their Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4. According to a document we received in our mailbox from an anonymous tipster, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.3 update will be rolled out for both the Exynos and Snapdragon variants of the smartphone later this month. The two new firmwares for Galaxy S5 SM-G900F and SM-G900H are labeled G900FXXUOBNE6 and G900HXXUOBNE3, respectively. It seems that the testing phase been phase for these two devices, so don’t bee too surprised to hear that the update will be rolled out in the next few days. The same document also reveals that the Android 4.4.3 update for Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9506 (that’s the LTE-A enabled model) is currently in final testing and that it will be rolled out to users sometime next month. There’s no word on Galaxy S4 I9500 and I9505, but the two models might also get the Android 4.4.3 update. Android 4.4.3 isn’t regarded as a major update, so don’t get your hopes too high. For what it’s worth, the Android 4.4.3 update for Nexus and Google Play edition devices arrived with bug fixes and a redesigned Phone Dialer app with card-based interface and a new color scheme for the phone dialer itself.
