The Xbox One’s Japan launch will be backed with 29 titles

Microsoft has unveiled its line-up of Xbox One software for the console’s Japanese launch on 9th September. The 29 titles on offer include the vast majority of 2014’s biggest titles, along with those available back at the console’s initial launch last November in North America and parts of Europe. Titanfall, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes top the bill, although the latter will only be available as a download title in Japan, Famitsu reported. One notable omission is Watch Dogs, which still holds a TBA date. As in the West, Japan will see the launch of Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection before the year is out. Key third party titles such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and Dragon Age: Inquisition will also feature.

Given all of the statistics we have seen up till now it looks like Sony is far ahead of Microsoft in the next-generation console wars. Time and time again it has been reported that the PS4 has been outselling the Xbox One. Later this year Microsoft’s new console will be launched on Sony’s home turf and when it comes out it will be backed by 29 titles which will all be available for the Xbox One upon its launch in Japan. Microsoft confirmed earlier this year that the Xbox One is going to make its way to Japan on September 4th. Online retailers in the country have already started taking orders for the console and some even report that the Day One bundle has already been sold out. There appears to be significant demand for the console in Japan if reports are to be believed. Of the 29 titles accompanying the launch, 11 are from Microsoft. These include the likes of Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Halo: Spartan Assault, Dead Rising 3 and more. Remaining titles are from third party developers such as Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Bethesda, Ubisoft and more. These include Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Titanfall, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and more.
