Amazon has completed its acquisition of Twitch.tv

Since Amazon Prime’s two-day delivery apparently doesn’t apply to business acquisitions, Amazon’s acquisition of streaming service Twitch, which was announced on August 25, has only just been finalized. A filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission has confirmed the $970 million deal is now on Amazon’s doorstep, poorly hidden under the welcoming mat.

Amazon has something special in its gold box today. The company has announced it has completed the acquisition of game streaming service Twitch. The news was announced via a brief SEC filing to notify the commission of the transaction. “On September 25, 2014, Amazon.com, Inc. completed its acquisition of Twitch Interactive, Inc,” the company says. The deal was announced on August 25, with a stated purchase price of $970 million. Later that day, Twitch CEO Emmett Shear identified a number of reasons for the deal, including the “biggest deal” in his eyes: that he gets to keep his job.
