The Apple Watch’s sapphire display will cost $27.41 each

The iPhone 6 as well as iPhone 6 Plus were never meant to arrive with a sapphire display as we reported last week, but it is a very different proposition for the yet-to-be-released Apple Watch. In fact, there is still plenty that we do not know about concerning the Apple Watch, especially concerning its battery life, but that is another issue to debate about on a different day. According to NPD DisplaySearch, they have come up with a guesstimate of the Apple Watch as featuring a sapphire display that will cost $27.41.

Although Apple has officially unveiled its first smartwatch (after almost two years of leaks and rumors I might add), the Cupertino-based company hasn’t actually disclosed all there is to know about the upcoming wearable. Sure enough, the overall design, the UI and various other hardware characteristics are known, but there are still a few big questions that remain unanswered, such as the type of display being used, or the resolution. Interestingly enough though, some of these details are slowly surfacing to the general public, as analysts continue to study the Watch in order to determine its specifications as well as its costs. Today we’ve come across an interesting report regarding the wearable at hand, which suggests that the gadget’s sapphire protected display costs roughly $27 to produce. More details below.
