All-screen Sharp AQUOS Crystal smartphone arrives on Sprint

We knew the Sharp AQUOS Crystal was coming, but we weren’t exactly sure when. That’s all changed thanks to news from Sprint. The handset, packing a nigh edge-to-edge display, has just reached Sprint Prepaid and Boost Mobile for $150. If you’d rather run Sharp’s latest attempt at breaking into the US smartphone market on traditional service using a $10 per month payment plan, you’ll have to wait an additional week until October 17th.

After nearly two months of waiting, Sprint is finally making the Sharp Aquos Crystal available for purchase. The affordable and practically frameless 5-inch smartphone will go on sale beginning Friday, October 17. Announced in mid-August, the Sharp Aquos Crystal is an Android 4.4.2 KitKat handset with middle-of-the-pack hardware. The aforementioned display features a 1,280×720-pixel resolution, and the rear houses an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video-recording capability. Under the hood we find a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, 8GB of storage, and 1.5GB of RAM. Equipped for Sprint’s Spark LTE network, the phone can also make HD Voice calls.
