Christian Bale confirmed to be portraying Steve Jobs

Christian Bale will star as late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic from director Danny Boyle. Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin confirmed the decision in an upcoming interview with Bloomberg Television today, adding that the Oscar-winning actor didn’t even have to audition for the role. “We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale,” Sorkin said. “He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.”

Actor Christian Bale didn’t have to audition for the role of Steve Jobs in the coming biopic of the Apple Inc.co-founder, according to screenwriter Aaron Sorkin. “We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that’s Chris Bale,” Sorkin told Bloomberg Television’s Emily Chang on a coming edition of “Studio 1.0.” “He didn’t have to audition. Well, there was a meeting.” Sorkin, whose screenplay for “The Social Network” won an Academy Award, is working on an adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography “Steve Jobs” for Sony Corp. The film will begin shooting in the next couple of months, Sorkin said.
