Windows Phone 8.1 arrives on the T-Mobile Lumia 521

The Windows Phone 8.1 update, otherwise known as the Lumia Cyan update for Nokia’s devices, took its sweet time in arriving on one of the most popular WP smartphones on T-Mobile but it is finally here. Following last week’s release of said update on Nokia Lumia 925, T-Mobile has now released Windows Phone 8.1 for Nokia Lumia 521. The 521 is a budget friendly device which become popular due to its respectable specifications and low price.

Last week, the Lumia Cyan/Windows Phone 8.1 update finally arrived for the Nokia Lumia 925 on T-Mobile. And at some point over the past couple of days, the same updated landed for T-Mo’s popular budget-friendly Lumia 521. The updates were both confirmed by Microsoft exec, Joe Belfiore on Twitter today. T-Mobile updated its support pages with the update information, and as well as being equipped with Windows Phone 8.1, the device now has access to the free inflight Wi-Fi texting on GoGo flights. File size is around 320MB and shouldn’t take too long to download an install. Head on over to your phone settings, and check for the update manually and you should find it there.
