Samsung is bringing Android 5.0 to its flagships in early 2015

A number of new Samsung Galaxy Android 5.0 Lollipop update details have emerged, straight from Samsung, and they include release date details for owners of the Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 4, and Galaxy Note 3. For weeks, we heard rumors about Samsung’s Android 5.0 Lollipop update release plans. We heard that the company was hard at work on several Lollipop updates including upgrades for the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note 3. These four devices represent four of its latest and most popular phones so the news didn’t come as a complete surprise.

Plenty of people are now rocking Android 5.0 Lollipop, as devices from Motorola, LG, Google (Nexus), and Google Play Editions are all boasting the latest and greatest build of the platform. However, Samsung, the biggest Android vendor of them all as yet to make the jump to Lollipop and the company has not even offered specific dates for the roll out. Reuters Korean correspondent Vincent Se Young Lee found out when Samsung will be updating its flagship handsets to Android 5.0 Lollipop, and the good news is users will not have to wait long. Citing official information, he says that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Note 4, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy S5 LTE-A will all get the 5.0 update “in early 2015”.That probably means Samsung will be sending the update out in January or at the latest early February. Oddly, the normal Galaxy S5 is not included, but I would be surprised to not see that get Lollipop with the rest of the flagships. Don’t expect the update to land on all devices at once, with the Galaxy Note 3 and Note 4 likely to get it first before the others a few weeks later.
