Samsung reportedly halts the development of its new U-series phones

Not too long ago it was reported that Samsung is going to introduce a new lineup of smartphones that will retain the single alphabet naming convention that Samsung has set in with the Galaxy A-series. The company didn’t confirm anything but rumors came online revealing that the Korean giant was working on a new lineup that would have been called the U series. Word on the street is that Samsung has stopped development of U-series smartphones.

Previously, we reported that Samsung might launch new series of smartphones with single alphabet naming convention, just like the A series. The U series was supposed to be among those new smartphones, but it has come to our notice that Samsung has halted its development. The reason for this delay is not known yet but if we were to hazard a guess, Samsung might have made this move to give the launch of the Galaxy S6 a spotlight it deserves. Samsung might launch the U series smartphones after the release of the upcoming Galaxy S6. The Korean smartphone giant had delayed the launch of Galaxy A series of smartphones, the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5, due to some issues while manufacturing metal cases for the devices. Samsung is currently preparing its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, which is internally codenamed as Project Zero.
