Asus will be releasing a slightly smaller version of the ZenFone 2

At CES earlier this month, Asus unveiled the latest edition to its line of smartphones, the 5.5-inch ZenPhone 2, which packed some pretty impressive specs at a surprisingly affordable price. According to reports, however, the company will also be releasing a slightly smaller version of the smartphone at a later date that will feature the same design and will cost somewhere between $100 and $150.

Asus unveiled the 5.5-inch ZenFone 2 earlier this month and it surprised with its affordability and high end specs, a true improvement over the successful original range launched in 2014. However, Asus has more plans to expand the ZenFone 2 range beyond the two handsets launched at CES (the ZenFone Zoom accompanied the ZenFone 2) and that likely means a new mini version. Taiwanese based Sogi is claiming that the 5-inch version of the ZenFone 2 will arrive shortly after the March launch of the bigger handset. It will have a same, albeit smaller, design, and will get Android 5.0 Lollipop, the 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 chip, 5 megapixel selfie lens, 13 megapixel rear snapper, and LTE connectivity. It is expected to cost between $100 and $150.
