Did the LG G4 just get benchmarked?

A new 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810-powered smartphone from LG has made its way to the GFXBench website which many think could be the LG G4, but others have their doubts. While a 5.5-inch 1080×1920 display and 2GB of RAM are impressive for most smartphones, those kinds of specs would be incredibly underwhelming for a flagship device.

A phone with the model number of LG H959 visited the GFXBench site with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 in tow. Could this be the LG G4? Earlier today, we passed along the word that LG is joining Sony by not unveiling its next flagship model at MWC 2015 in March. Instead, we should see both manufacturer’s handsets unveiled some time in the second quarter. The GFXBench site shows that the LG H959 will have a 5.5-inch screen. So far, so good. But with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, this is certainly not the LG G4. After all, the LG G3 features a 1440 x 2560 resolution display, so why go backwards? Furthermore, this model will be equipped with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The camera on back weighs in at 12MP while the snapper up front is 2MP. Android 5.0.1 is pre-installed. Does that sound like a 2015 flagship phone? Not at all.

What do you think?
