Xiaomi’s latest flagship managed to sell out in less than three minutes

In just a few short years of existence Xiaomi has managed to achieve a level of fanatic customer loyalty that’s comparable to that of Apple. This can be seen with the fact that the burgeoning Chinese smartphone company managed to sell out its most recent flagship, the Mi Note, in less than three minutes. This has prompted the company to set a bold goal of selling 100 million smartphones by the year’s end.

Xiaomi is set to continue its meteoric rise with the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. The first batch of Mi Note devices went on sale in China earlier today, and was sold out in under three minutes. The exact number of devices sold wasn’t disclosed, but a Xiaomi VP revealed that the sale received over 220 million reservations. The next batch of Mi Note devices will be available on February 3, with the Mi Note Pro set to go on sale in the month of March. The amount of interest being lavished on Xiaomi’s latest devices is largely due to the hardware on offer. The Mi Note — which sells for the equivalent of $370 — offers a 5.7-inch full-HD display, Snapdragon 801, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (with a 64GB model also available), 13 MP camera with OIS, dual-SIM with dual LTE connectivity and a 3,000 mAh battery.
