The LG G4 will reportedly launch in April with a curved screen

With competitors like HTC and Samsung hogging up much of the attention at this year’s MWC with their own flagship smartphones, LG made the smart move and decided to unveil its own flagship device at a different date. Smart, as I said, but we’re still waiting for an official announcement from LG. The good news is that there’s no shortage of leaks coming in regarding the LG G4 and this most recent batch may be the biggest yet. 

According to the Korean media, LG will release its highly anticipated flagship phone, the LG G4, sometime at the end of April. The same industry sources are “confirming” (if we can call it that) that the smartphone will come with a curved display (Quad HD resolution, in the 5-inch range), just like some of the previously leaked LG G4 cases hinted not long ago. This move would echo what LG Electronics’ mobile chief, Cho Juno, claimed not long ago when he told the press that the LG G4 will be radically different from its predecessor. Other reports mentioned, not long ago, that the handset will differentiate itself through design. According to analysts, the LG G4 will help the company prevail over its direct competitors (mainly the Chinese manufacturers). In a Kiwoom Securities Co. research note it is being predicted that the G4 will be a “gamechanger for LG”, which will sell over 15 million units “annually”. We previously heard that LG is expecting to sell 10 LG G4 million units in 2015 and that it managed to sell around 7 million LG G3 smartphones since it launched back in April 2014.
