Bethesda isn’t sure if it’ll host an E3 press conference again

The announcement of Fallout 4 wasn’t the only reason Bethesda chose to have its first-ever E3 press conference this year, the fact that the company had enough games to announce to fill up an entire show was actually the biggest reason. As awesome as the conference was, however, Bethesda isn’t sure that it’ll host another one based simply on the fact that it probably won’t have enough games to announce at once to warrant it.

The biggest reason Bethesda did their own press conference this year was because they had the amount of games to support the length of a show. Thinking back without looking at any notes, I can remember seeing DOOM, Fallout 4, Fallout Shelter and Dishonored 2. That’s a full docket, plus the one or two extras I’ve completely forgotten. What about next year? Or the year after that? Bethesda isn’t sure if they’ll be able to do another show. Bethesda Vice President Pete Hines chatted with Telegraph about it. “I don’t know if we’ll do one next year…I don’t know if we’ll do one again. This year felt like the right time to do this kind of thing. Honestly, [this is] where my focus is: execute on this stuff that we’re talking about and work with the MachineGames and Tangos and all the other studios to say ‘ok, how do we do the next thing with you guys even better?’ What does that look like? And how do we push ourselves forward?’”

What do you think?
