Rumor: Apple might be fixing one of the iPhone’s biggest weaknesses

You could argue that the iPhone can get away with having significantly weaker specs than most Android flagships because of the optimization that iOS allows, and you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong, but two things that no amount of optimization can make up for are the iPhone’s camera and resolution. While we’ve already heard rumors that Apple will finally upgrade the iPhone’s camera with the iPhone 6S, another rumor claims that the next-generation iPhone will adopt Full HD resolution, while the Plus version will feature a 2K display.

Apple has never engaged in specs-matching wars with the competition when it comes to the iPhone and has thus drawn some criticism for its hardware choices regarding screen resolutions, camera megapixels, processor cores or the amount of RAM it offers. But that’s about to change this year, as Apple’s iPhone 6s will reportedly finally match Android flagship devices when it comes to one key component. Chinese blog Feng.com has found out from sources familiar with Apple’s supply chain that Apple’s new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will sport better displays than any previous iPhone model, when it comes to screen resolution. According to the site, the iPhone 6s will have a 4.7-inch display with Full HD resolution, while the iPhone 6s Plus will get a 5.5-inch 2K display. Comparatively, the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have 1334 x 750 and 1980 x 1920 resolution, respectively. Additionally, Feng.com says that the iPhone 6s models will feature Force Touch support, and that the cheapest versions will have 32GB of storage on board. Finally, the company is also supposedly using a different metal alloy for the iPhone 6s to prevent bending issues.
