UK is outsourcing their political discussion monitoring

It has been known for a long time that the various governments of the world keep a close eye on what happens on the internet when it comes to politics. They watch news sources, blogs, and social media profiles to see what people are saying. Most claim to do this to get a feel for how to craft policy around sentiment, but the motives are debatable. What’s new to the mix is that the United Kingdom will now be outsourcing their efforts to companies who will do the spying monitoring for them.

If you’re one of those people that gets a bit vocal about politics, you’ll be interested to know that your Facebook, Twitter and personal blog are about to begin being monitored for references to the Government.
