Google will unveil its two new Nexus smartphones on September 29th

We’ve been hearing about the next two addition to Google’s Nexus smartphone line, but we may finally get the official unveiling we’ve been waiting for later this month. According to CNET, Google will be hosting a Nexus announcement event on September 29th, where it’ll take the wraps off the 5.7-inch Huawei-made Nexus and the LG-made 5.2-inch Nexus that will be the successor to the Nexus 5 that LG made back in 2013.

Been waiting to hear more about Google’s newest Nexus devices? Chances are you’ll only have to wait a few weeks. CNET reported earlier that Google would be hosting a Nexus event on the 29th, which we’ve independently confirmed is happening through our own sources. But officially, Google said it doesn’t comment on rumors. All evidence leads to Google announcing at least two new devices: a 5.2-inch successor to the Nexus 5, as well as 5.7-inch Nexus built by Huawei. Both devices are rumored to have fingerprint sensor on the back and a USB Type-C charging port – new features for the nexus line. It’ll be a particularly important showing for Huawei, which so far has had a minimal presence in the US. The LG-built Nexus 5 helped the company secure its standing as contender in the US market, so the new Nexus 6(?) could help Huawei grow outside of china.
