HTC is working on its first smartwatch codenamed Halfbreak

We already know that HTC has a couple of high-end smartphones that it plans to unveil on September 29th, but there’s a good chance that the company will take the wraps off of its first smartwatch at the event as well. We don’t have anything official to go on, but according to Phandroid, the Android Wear-powered smartwatch goes by the codename Halfbreak, and will come with a round 360×360 display.

When Android Wear was announced a year and a half ago, HTC was listed as an Android Wear partner. We haven’t seen an Android Wear powered wearable from the Taiwanese company thus far, but that doesn’t mean their continued downward spiral is going to stop them from pursuing their partnership. According to new information available to us, we now know that HTC is working on an upcoming Android Wear smartwatch. Their wearable is codenamed halfbeak (which just so happens to be a type of fish like other Android Wear watches), will come equipped with a round display, and sports a 360 x 360 resolution. While this information is a bit on the light side, our sources are sound, and have provided us with accurate information in the past. According to a recently leaked flyer, HTC has an upcoming event on September 29th where we’ll see a double flagship. Does that mean a new smartphone and a smartwatch? We’ll have to wait and see.
