Force Touch is going to explode in popularity next year

Apple is rarely ever the first company to do something, but it tends to be the first to do something so well that it quickly becomes an industry standard. That was the case with smartphones, that was the case with fingerprint sensors, and now it looks like that’ll be the case with force-sensitive displays. After introducing 3D Touch (formerly known as Force Touch) with the iPhone 6S, many of the company’s competitors have started working on putting similar technology in their future smartphones, and it looks like we’ll be seeing a ton of smartphones with force-sensitive displays next year. 

Ever since we heard that the iPhone 6s / 6s Plus will be equipped with a force-sensitive display, we began wondering just how big of an impact this particular technology will make on the Apple ecosystem, and indeed on the smartphone market as a whole. At this point, it’s safe to say that force touch, or 3D Touch if you will, is already a fairly popular concept. 3D Touch was received well by iOS users and according to countless reports, numerous other smartphone makers are now working on implementing similar technologies in their upcoming flagship phones. In fact, according to reports from Taiwan’s smartphone supply chain, the force touch concept will gain a lot more grip next year. Shortly after Apple officially introduced the new iPhone 6s series, numerous leaks and rumors emerged, suggesting that other smartphone makers are already working on alternative force-sensitive display technologies for their future products. Samsung is one of them, and so is Xiaomi. Just how popular this concept will become remains to be seen, but if we look at the market today and we take the latest reports in consideration, force touch will be extremely popular in 2016.
