No offense Huawei, but LG is Google’s favorite partner for developing and manufacturing its Nexus smartphones. It was pretty obvious from the fact that LG has already developed three Nexus smartphones for the company that Google really likes working with them, but this is the first time that Google has picked favorites. According to the vice president of Android engineering, Dave Burke, the two companies “share the same approach to the mobile device market.”

A parent should never pick favourites, but if you absolutely had to choose… Google has revealed that it believes LG is the best manufacturing partner for its Nexus smartphone program, according to a new report. The search engine giant has used several different companies to produce Nexus devices, including Samsung, Asus, Motorola, HTC and, most recently, LG and Huawei with the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P respectively. Several of the manufacturers are beloved by fans as a result of their efforts, but LG is apparently the real winner in the eyes of Google’s Android Engineering VP Dave Burke. “LG Electronics is the best partner for us in engineering the Nexus smartphones,” said Burke, as reported by the Korea Times. “We share the same approach to the mobile device market with LG Electronics.” Burke allegedly added: “Our engineers really like to work with the people at LG Electronics. Together they have become an excellent team.” We should note that we’ve asked Google to verify these comments, and we’re awaiting response. Until then, it’s worth taking this report with a pinch of salt.
