Netflix is working on a bunch of new content for tweens and teens

Families have always been Netflix’s primary target, and the company already has plenty of content to entertain parents and young children, but what about kids in the tween and teen demographics? Netflix’s offerings in those areas could use some work, especially when it comes to original content, which is why the company is working on a ton of new shows that will be rolling out in the coming months, all of which are geared towards tweens and teens.

Netflix on Thursday unveiled seven new original series for tween and teen audiences, including two new shows from LEGO and DreamWorks’ family sitcom Dawn of the Croods. The U.S. streaming giant also ordered the the live action show Lost & Found Music Studios from Canada’s Orphan Black producer Temple Street Productions, the stop-motion, action-comedy Buddy Thunderstruck from American Greetings Entertainment, Saban Brands’ anime-inspired Glitter Force and the animated series Las Leyendas from Mexican animation studio Anima Estudios. Also headed to Netflix is LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One and LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship. Both four-episode series will debut in all Netflix territories globally in early 2016. Dawn of the Croods, to bow on Dec. 24, 2015, will be available in all Netflix territories, except Germany and Japan. And Glitter Force, comprising 20 episodes, will bow worldwide exclusively on Netflix, except in Asia. Netflix will also exclusively stream starting in 2016 26 half-hours of Lost & Found Music Studios in all territories worldwide outside of Canada, the UK and Ireland. Finally, the first season, or 13 episodes, of Las Leyendas will debut exclusively on Netflix, worldwide, in 2017.
