Fossil’s first smartwatch was released today, and it looks gorgeous

We’ve already seen plenty of tech companies trying to be watchmakers, but Fossil is one of the first watchmakers to do the reverse. Having been a major player in the traditional watch market for years, Fossil released its first smartwatch today, known as the Q Founder, which can be purchased directly through Fossil for $295. The specs are still a mystery for the most part, but it has one of the best designs of any smartwatch that’s been released so far.

The Q Founder from Fossil, the brand’s first dive into Android Wear, is now available for purchase at $295 directly through its website. The Q Founder is one of the first smartwatches available from a brand that has been in the watch game for years, bringing their design and manufacturing expertise to a relatively new sector of wrist computing. When Android Wear was first announced oh so long ago, Fossil was one of the initial partners with Google. The Q Founder features a stainless steel body with matching bands. On the inside, buyers will find 4GB of storage and 400mAh battery, but Fossil is still not yet stating on its specifications list what processor or screen resolution the smartwatch features. Other features that are listed include a IP67 rating, a gang of sensors, Bluetooth 4.1, and a “flat tire.” The device is priced at $295 directly from Fossil, and it does not appear the watch can be purchased inside any retail shops just yet. Once Fossil updates us on additional specs, we will update this post.

What do you think?
