Oppo Find 7 finally launches in China

The Oppo Find 7 has finally been launched by the Chinese manufacturer and it means we now have two QHD (2K) display smartphones on the market. With a resolution of 1440 x 2560 on a 5.5-inch display the Find 7 delivers a staggering 538ppi. To put that in some perspective the 5.1-inch Galaxy S5 boasts 432ppi while the 4-inch iPhone 5S clocks in at just 326ppi.

If you haven’t heard of Oppo before, perhaps it’s time to sit up and pay attention. We previously reviewed the very impressive Oppo N1, the company’s flagship Android handset, which has a 13-megapixel swivel camera and a 5.9-inch display. The Chinese company’s latest phone, the Find 7, comes with its own gimmick as well — a 5.5-inch display with a 2,560×1,440-pixel resolution. That’s “Quad HD” — four times as many pixels as you find on a 720p TV, and one of the resolutions referred to as “2K“. During my brief time with the Find 7, I was pretty impressed with how sharp the screen looked — I squinted really close, and couldn’t even make out the individual pixels — though not that you can with some Full HD smartphones like the 4.7-inchHTC One, for example. It’s likely you will be able to do so on larger displays though, but there’s no reason for your eyes to be that close to your handset anyway!
